Privacy Policy
What we collect
If you request work: your name, email, phone, the property address, what you need done, and any notes you add. We keep a record of quotes you received, what you accepted, and the completion photograph for that job.
If you operate: the above plus your date of birth, the state you work in, your business name, the area you cover including the coordinates you set on the map, your equipment, the services you offer, and any insurance or licence documents you supply. If you are under 18 we also collect your parent or guardian's name and email.
Technical: standard server logs and basic analytics.
What we do not hold
We do not store your bank account details or your identity documents. Payment accounts are held by our payment provider and identity checks are carried out by a verification provider. We keep only a reference and a status from each, never the underlying document or account number.
Why we use it
- To show your request to operators who cover your area, and to show their quotes to you.
- To collect, hold and release payment for accepted work.
- To verify operator identity, age, licensing and insurance where supplied.
- To decide which ZIP codes to open next, using the areas people ask about.
- To contact you about a job, and to deal with a dispute if one arises.
What we share, and with whom
With operators: when you post a request, operators covering your area see the property details needed to price the work. Your full street address is released to an operator when you accept their quote, not before.
With customers: operators are shown by first name and last initial, with their rating, the number of jobs behind it, and any insurance or licence indicator.
With providers: our payment processor, identity verification provider, hosting and email providers, each for the purpose of running the service.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers.
Operator listing preferences
Operators may opt in to being listed when a customer asks for a woman operator. We store that choice as a yes or no. We do not collect or store anyone's gender. The choice can be turned off at any time and turning it off does not affect any other work an operator sees.
Messages
Messages between a customer and an operator are visible to those two people and to us. We keep them as part of the job record so a dispute can be looked into, and we may review a thread where conduct is reported. We do not use the content of messages for advertising.
Ratings
Ratings are two-way and are not visible to either party until both have submitted or a set period has passed. Published ratings show as a score and a count, not as individual named entries.
Photographs
There are two kinds. Photos you attach to a request are shown to operators covering your area so they can price the work accurately. They can see these before you choose one of them, which is why we ask you not to include house numbers or number plates. The completion photograph is uploaded by the operator when the job is finished. It is part of the job record, visible to you, and used to settle a dispute about that job.
We do not use your photographs in advertising unless you say we can
Marketing use is off unless you tick the box when you post a request. It applies to photographs of that property, whether you took them or an operator did, because it is your property either way.
You can withdraw it at any time by writing to info@nomowsnow.com. We will stop using the images going forward. We cannot recall material already printed or already distributed.
Without that consent, photographs are used only to run the service: showing an operator what they are quoting on, giving you a record of the work, and resolving disputes.
Operators under 18
Where an operator is under 18, a parent or guardian provides consent and their contact details are held alongside the operator's account. FOR COUNSEL: confirm obligations under state law for personal information of minors, and whether any additional notice or consent is required.
How long we keep it
RETENTION PERIODS TO CONFIRM. This section should state how long job records, photographs, ratings and closed accounts are kept, and note that some records must be retained for tax purposes.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Some records must be kept where we are required to retain them. Write to info@nomowsnow.com.
