Common questions

If the answer is not here, email info@nomowsnow.com or call (888) 339-7669. A person reads it.

Does it cost anything to post a request?

No. Posting is free and you are under no obligation. If you do not like any of the quotes, accept none of them and the request expires. Nothing is charged.

When am I actually charged?

Not when you post, and not when you accept. Accepting a quote reserves the amount on your card, which is a hold rather than a charge. Your card is charged after the work is done and you have seen the photo.

Why do quotes differ so much?

Operators set their own prices. They are independent businesses, not employees, and they price on what they see: the size of the lot, what needs doing, how far they are travelling.

Every quote shows the operator's rating and whether they carry insurance, so the cheapest is not always the one to take.

What does NoMowSnow charge?

A flat $5 fee per job, shown separately before you accept. It is never folded into the operator's price. On urgent work there is also an emergency surcharge, shown on every quote before you accept one.

The price you see is the price you pay. Nothing is added afterwards.

Can I ask for more than one thing?

Yes. Tick everything you want done in the same visit.

Lawn work and snow work need separate requests, because different operators cover them. An operator who mows may not plow.

Do I have to save a card?

No. It is offered after you post because it makes accepting a quote one tap instead of a form. You can skip it and add one later.

If you do save one, nothing is charged to it until you accept a quote, and you choose which quote.

What if my card expires before the work?

We will ask you to add a new one before the job. That is why the check happens a couple of days ahead rather than on the day.

Can I cancel?

Free until the last hour before the job. Inside that final hour the operator is likely already travelling to you, so 25% of the job is retained, most of which goes to them for the trip. The NoMowSnow fee is not refundable.

Cancelling a request before quoting closes costs nothing at all.

What if the work is not done properly?

Raise it in the app. A dispute pauses payment while it is looked at, and a decision is made within 14 days. Funds are then released to the operator, refunded to you, or split, and both of you are told the outcome and the reason.

Should I tip?

Entirely up to you, and only offered after the work is done and you have seen it.

Tips go to the operator in full. NoMowSnow takes nothing from them.

Why do you need my address before showing prices?

Because a price without an address is a guess. Operators are matched on distance from where they work, and the size and layout of the property is most of what decides the cost.

Will you email me my address?

No. Confirmations name the city, not the street. An email sits in an inbox for years and gets forwarded, and it should not tell anyone which house is expecting a stranger with equipment.

What does it cost to join?

Nothing to sign up. NoMowSnow keeps 20% of your price, and 25% of the emergency surcharge on urgent work.

Tips are yours in full. We take nothing from them.

Why can I not see any jobs?

Almost always because setup is not finished. You need to have confirmed your email, verified your identity, connected a bank account, and set your service area. Until all of those are done, jobs stay invisible.

Open the Account tab in the app and it will tell you which are outstanding.

Why do you need my identity and bank details?

Customers are handing a stranger access to their property, and identity verification is how we take that seriously. The bank account is how you get paid.

Our payment provider collects both on their own secure pages. Your ID and bank details never pass through NoMowSnow. Tax information for your 1099 is collected at the same time.

How long do I have to complete setup?

Three days from signup, with a reminder on day one and day two.

If it runs over, nothing is lost and your account stays open. But you cannot quote until it is finished, so every day it waits is work going to someone else.

I am under 18. Can I work?

Yes, from 14, or your state's minimum working age if that is higher, with a parent or guardian co-signing.

One thing to sort out first: your pay goes to an account in their name, not yours. That is not our preference, it is how payment processors work, and they do not open accounts for minors. Agree with them how you get your share before you take your first job.

Can other operators see my prices?

No, and you cannot see theirs. Visible rival pricing turns into a race to the bottom within a week, which is bad for everyone doing the work properly.

What happens when I win a job?

You have two hours to confirm it. Miss that and it passes to the next operator, and not confirming counts against your reliability score.

Once confirmed, the job appears under My work with the full address.

How do I finish a job?

Open the job and tap Finish the job. Take a photo of the finished work; on a phone this opens the camera directly.

That photo is what the customer sees, what releases your payment, and what settles any question about the work later. The job is not complete until it is uploaded.

When do I get paid?

After the customer approves the work, or automatically after 72 hours if they do not get round to it. You are not left waiting on somebody who went away for the weekend.

Payment goes to the bank account you connected during setup.

Do I need insurance?

Not for residential work. It is optional and simply disclosed on your quote.

For contracted commercial work it is a hard requirement and we check it is in date. Carrying it is a way to win work, not just a box to tick: customers see it on every quote.

Can I bring my own customers?

Yes. You keep your own business and your own clients. NoMowSnow is somewhere to find more work, not an employer.

What if a customer asks me to do extra while I am there?

Agree it in the app so it is priced and recorded. Cash on the side leaves neither of you covered, and it is not work NoMowSnow can help with if it goes wrong.
